Orcidas Tournament 2004
(minor tournament)

With more and more corporate sponsors looking to increase their exposure and sales, they have turned to advertising in the Blood Bowl games. Bloodweiser being the most notable having sponsored for many seasons, the newest sponsor in a tournament is Orcidas. With their growing sales in the shoe industry, they have figured : what better place to try out their product and get the public interested in buying the product than to give it to their favorite Blood Bowl players ?  Orcidas provides a tidy sum of gold to the winning team as well as a new pair of their shoes. The secret of the shoes given to the player is kept closely guarded, as the public would become greatly depressed if they found out that the pair they bought was not imbued with magical properties.

The winner of the tournament gets 80,000gp, while the runner up gets 40,000gp in addition to their normal winnings. Both teams also receive a complimentary Magic Helmet. The special presentation at the end of the game is for the bright red pair of shoe for one player on the winning team. The magic in the shoes gives the player a +1 movement permanently (this counts as if the player had gained +MA, so he cannot already have +2MA and wear the shoes). In addition, once per game, the wearer can make an extra go for it that counts as 1d3 extra squares (he still has to roll 2+ to gfi). This 1d3 special gfi can be made for the first, second or third gfi (the player temporarily gains Sprint when making the "run for it"). Though only one pair of the shoes may be worn at a time due to the type of enchantment placed upon them. This magic is what makes Orcidas’s slogan true. Da Red Wunz Do Go Fasta! The +MA is permanent, but the other special power will only last for the next season (tournament included).

Wild card selection : Amongst the three teams losing against the quarter finalists, one will be selected randomly to compete in the semi final. The coach of the team must be willing to go further, and have a team in somewhat good shape to do so. The semi final brackets will be redrawn, so there is no way to know who will play against the wild card.
