Orc Skull
Tournament 2002
(minor tournament)
The great orc shaman Gazhalskul was one of the greatest shamans to ever play for an orc team. Unfortunately, during the final match in the Blood Bowl Cup, Gazhalskuls spells went dreadfully wrong. Shooting the lightning bolts at random from the great Waagh power that overwhelmed him, the entire stadium was destroyed and most of the occupants were killed in the resulting devastation. The only thing that was left of the old shaman was, oddly enough, his skull. Charged with magical energies of the Waagh and the countless years of Blood Bowl experience, the skull was a prize to be had by any team. Over the years the skull was lost many times and has become worn and polished from use, but its magic is still as potent as ever. Though the skull is now the prize in its own tournament, many fans stay away from the game and watch the happening from their crystal balls, or read about it on the fence posts the following day. This is largely due to the way in which the old shaman died.
The winning team gains 20,000 gp for winning and the losing team gets 10,000 gp, in addition to the normal winnings for the match. Any team that holds the skull can use its powers once per season. Instead of rolling for a skill, a player may use the skull and pick any skill as if he had rolled doubles. The skull cannot give any physical mutations or stat increases. This prize may last more than one season.
