The Itza
Shaman Tournament is actually the only tournament that is
hosted by a single person (for now). Itza is a skink shaman
that has left his home for the love of Blood Bowl, and as a
way of making his living he hires himself out to various
teams in exchange for food and a place to stay. As Itza
became well known for his small magical powers, any team will
gladly have the extra magical help in a game for the exchange
of having a small lizardman following them around watching
from the sidelines. In order to determine what team Itza
wants to follow around for the season, he holds the
tournament and then agrees to join the winning team. Itza is
such a huge Blood Bowl fan that he only wants to be part of a
winning team, in order to help keep his reputation in good
standing with the fans.
As part of
hosting the tournament, Itza also arranges it so that the
extra money generated by his presence goes to the teams
competing in the final game. The winning team gains 50,000 gp
to his winnings, and the losing team gets 20,000 gp. This is
in addition to the normal winnings both teams would generate
for the match. The big prize is Itza will join the team for
the season at no real cost other than food and a good spot on
the bench to watch the game. Itza can cast a Zap! Spell once
per match as a normal wizard. This is in addition to any
spells that the team wizard may cast during the match as well.
This is the only spell Itza can cast, as he is only a skink
shaman, and not an all powerful slann mage priest.
