Dungeon Bowl 2003 (divisional major)
The Dungeon Bowl is played, as its name suggests, in a dungeon. Originally, the two teams started at opposite ends of a small underground complex, the idea being to get to the opponents starting position with the ball and score a touchdown, but eventually the game evolved so that it is played on a normal sized and shaped field which just happens to be located in a dungeon! The ten colleges of magic sponsor the Dungeon Bowl league, and each college also supports one or more of the teams taking part in the tournament. Even though the idea was originally put forward to settle the matter of which college was most powerful, and as to be a one-off event, the Dungeon Bowl has now been going for over 20 years and show no sign of ending in the foreseeable future. The current holders of the cup are the currently retired Dwarf team "The Fancy Lads", who were supported by the Grey College in the last Dungeon Bowl. Of course, the other colleges say that this was a are carefully studying the form of the best teams in preparation for the next Dungeon Bowl. t look as if the problem is going to be solved in the near future or at all, come to that. As receiving the magnificent Dungeon Bowl trophy, the winners are awarded a cash prize of 150,000 gp, while the runners-up get a prize of 100,000 gp. This is in addition of the normal winnings both teams receiving a complimentary Magic Helmet as well. In addition, the winning team receives the services of a wizard from the college that supported them, who will serve with the team for an entire season. The extra wizard will serve with the winning team even if they already have a wizard on their roster, and does not count toward the team total cost.
This prize wizard specializes in creating magical items. At the start of every game during the season (rolled during the pre-game sequence, before the cards), on a roll of 4+, the wizard will have created a magical item. If it occurs, roll 2d6 and consult the table below. These items are in addition to any other Magic Item card you may take, and any stat temporarily gained can boost a stat above the 2 stat max upgrade rule.
