Golbum Deepstare has always been a Gnome on demand. His extraordinary talents and skills in metallurgy, alchemy and magic allowed him to create some unique pieces combining these domains. In the Old World and in the Blood Bowl industry, he is mainly renowned for creating magnificient prosthetic apparatus for valuable players having lost different body parts. His surname "The Armorer of Chaos" comes from his long-time fascination for mutations and special physical abilities possessed by the "gifted races", like he calls them. He has been successful many times in creating formidable objects that mimics mutations, but is now doing researches using Warp Stones and dark magic to create "natural" mutations on non-gifted races. Obtaining supplies of Warp Stones and regenerating living creatures (the only ones surviving the experiments so far) has left Golbum on the brink of bankruptcy, but the ressourceful Gnome rapidly came up with an idea to replenish his coffer... Learning that The Armorer of Chaos was willing to "give away" several of his special creations, the most powerfull Blood Bowl teams supplied themselves the funds to put together a prestigious tournament, also putting lots of efforts into the advertisements. Big crowds and Cablevision was also a mandatory condition of Golbum, to optimize the income. Many suspects he doesn't even appreciate the subtlety of the sport, but in this case, that is not important... The winner of the tournament's final gets first choice of one major and one minor item. Both teams having lost the semi-finals will play each other, the winner of this match then going up against the loser of the final. The winner of this match will get second choice of one major item, and the losing team will get third choice of one minor item. After all teams have chosen their item(s) in order, keeping that order, each team will have a ominous choice : sacrificing to Golbum's science a "healthy specimen" (51+ spp player) in exchange for an extra minor item or even an "exceptional specimen" (101+ spp player) in exchange for the remaining major item. Each player receiving a prize will have to miss the first game of the season, because Golbum has to make some minor adjustments so the item fits. Note that the same player cannot receive more than one prize. Special Rules All the matches played during the tournament are Big Matches (according to the card The Big Match). Each game, half the winnings of the teams go into The Armorer's coffer (rounded down). This also includes possible money cards and even collected bounties. |
