1.0 Standard Installation (recommended) -
This method will install the Blood Bowl IRC Client,
and create a shortcut on the start menu.
1.1 Download the
bbinstall.zip file. (Optional download site on Xoom:
bbinstall.zip)
1.2 Unzip the file into a temporary folder.
1.3 Double-click on
BBInstall.exe to run the installation program.
1.4 Follow the on-screen prompts.
1.5 Select Blood Bowl IRC Client from the start
menu to run the program.
2.0 Executables -
This method will copy the Blood Bowl IRC Client files to your computer.
Some ActiveX components must be registered manually
(Follow the steps in section 3.0 to manually register these components).
2.1 Download the
bbowl005.zip file. (Optional download site on Xoom:
bbowl005.zip)
2.2 Unzip the file into your Blood Bowl directory.
2.3 Double-click BBowl005.exe
to run the program.
3.0 Installation Problems -
The most common installation problem is the ActiveX chat controls not
registering properly. This will generate an
"EOleSysError: class not registered" error when the program is run.
3.1 Check to see if you have the files,
chatsock.dll and mschat.ocx
in your system folder (usually c:\windows\system).
If you do not have these files, you can download them from
chatcontrols.zip and unzip them into
your system folder.
3.2 From the Start menu, choose MS-DOS Prompt
(or Command Prompt in NT).
3.3 Type regsvr32 chatsock.dll.
3.4 Type regsvr32 mschat.ocx.
